Understanding fragrance notes

Notes are a vocabulary for describing a fragrance's impressions, not necessarily its ingredient list. A note may evoke a material without that material being present in its natural form.

Floral

Impressions associated with flowers.

Woody

Evocations of wood and dry or soft textures.

Amber

Often warm accords with many facets.

Fresh

Bright, green or citrus sensations.

Gourmand

Evocations of flavours or sweet treats.

Spicy

Impressions evoking spices.
